Privacy Policy

Yushal Enterprises ("we," "us," "our") operates BriefEngine, a Chrome extension that generates SEO content briefs from Google search results pages ("the Extension"). This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, what we do with it, and what we never do.

What the Extension reads

When you click "Generate Brief" on a Google search results page, the Extension reads the visible content of that page only — the search query, organic result titles and snippets, "People Also Ask" questions, and related searches. This happens only when you click the button; the Extension does not run in the background, does not monitor your browsing, and does not read any page other than the Google results page you are viewing at that moment.

The Extension never reads pages other than Google search results, never tracks your browsing history, and never operates without you directly clicking the Generate Brief button.

What we send to our servers

The text extracted from the page (query, titles, snippets, questions, related searches) is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude AI model to generate your content brief. Your saved brief template (which you configure in Settings) is sent along with this data so the AI can format the brief to your preference.

We also send a randomly generated installation identifier (not tied to your name, email, or any personal account) so we can apply free-tier usage limits fairly. If you have a paid subscription, your access key is sent to verify your subscription status.

What we store

• On your device (chrome.storage.local): your brief template, access key, the random installation identifier, and recent briefs (up to five). The last extracted search-results snapshot is also kept on your device in the side panel so you can regenerate without searching again; it is sent to our servers only if you regenerate. None of this is visible to us unless sent as part of a brief-generation request.
• On our servers: we temporarily process the SERP data and template to generate your brief; we do not permanently store the content of individual briefs. We store usage counts (how many briefs generated, by installation ID or access key, per calendar month) to enforce free-tier limits and monitor for abuse of paid subscriptions. After a paid checkout, we store the checkout email address Paddle collected, together with your access key and subscription status, so we can match your payment to unlimited access. We store email only — not your name, phone number, physical address, or payment card details.

What we never collect

We do not collect your name, phone number, physical address, physical location, IP address logs beyond what's operationally necessary for abuse prevention, or any personal browsing history. We do not sell or share data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Third parties involved

• Anthropic processes the extracted page text to generate your brief, under their own data handling terms.
• Paddle (our payment processor and merchant of record) processes subscription payments and collects the email you enter at checkout. After payment, we retrieve that email from Paddle (email only) so we can link it to your BriefEngine access key. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
• Cloudflare hosts our backend server infrastructure.

Your choices

You can clear your stored template, access key, installation identifier, and recent briefs at any time by uninstalling the Extension, which removes all locally stored data. You can request deletion of any server-side usage records and the checkout email associated with your access key by contacting us at hello@briefengine.io.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Extension evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
